Welcome to my personal website. Here you can find information on published and forthcoming publications, running research projects, and legal information regarding GDPR-rights for interviewees.

I am a political scientist situated in Denmark at Aarhus University. I research the darker sides of political behavior, focusing on politics outside the ballot box, e.g. violent uprisings, terrorism, online hostility and much more. In my research I apply a multi-method approach, and to the degree that my academic toolbox (and wallet) allows, I choose how to carry out a study based on what method best enables me to answer the research question at hand. This has previously led me to dabble with such diverse methods as thematic content analysis, interrupted time series designs, logistic regression modelling, survey experiments, and comparative historical case studies (to mention a few). In general, I am bit of a methods geek - but aren't we all deep down. I am currently a member of the STANDBY team in Aarhus, Denmark, led by PI Lasse Lindekilde, which researches pro-social bystander reactions to online hate speech.

I like board games, volleyball, documentaries, and all versions of the TV concept 'Taskmaster' (US and Danish versions excluded... I particularly enjoy the Norwegian and New Zealand versions, though). I am a "happy helper" engaged in voluntary work for friends, co-workers and my volleyball club. If you need my help, just let me know - I accept payment in chocolate and sparkling wines 😉.
